As the title infers Dragons Den is a television programme that originates out of Japan.
The format, which now airs internationally and has become a breakaway hit in territories that span from the United Kingdom, Holland and the Middle East to Canada and as far as Australia and New Zealand.
The premise of Dragon’s Den is simple – aspiring entrepreneurs are opportune to face a panel of Five successful businessmen and women, and pitch their business ideas to secure outright investments.
Each player pitches a business scheme, telling us how much they need to float the business. The Dragons can invest as much or as little as they like in return for...an agreed percentage of the business.
Each Dragon can pledge as much money as they like, or nothing at all. But players have to raise ALL the cash they ask for. If an idea need 1,000,000 Naira and the Dragons offer a total of 750,000k, the player leaves empty handed.
Beware: The Dragons are not parted with their Money easily. A major part of the show is the gladiatorial element of entrepreneurs pitting their dream against the knowledge and experience of the five Dragons.
